An automatic benefit

The coffee market is becoming ever more diverse; quality coffee is available more readily available than ever before. From QSRs and supermarkets to convenience stores and forecourts, a good cup has never been closer or easier to buy. At this year’s European Coffee Symposium we’re showcasing our Black&White4c, the bean-to-cup machine which is changing the coffee game for non-specialist operators.

David Porteous, director of business development, says: “non-specialists’ equipment choices can be the key to unlocking the coffee opportunity. While coffee can offer great margins, drive footfall and give ample upselling opportunity – it’s important to know that consumers are more discerning than ever. So while offering coffee can tempt them through the door; offering quality, consistent coffee keeps them coming back.

“Through well thought out barista training, this is achievable across estates of any size, however dedicated baristas aren’t always an answer for operators where coffee isn’t their primary offer. However, recent developments in automation makes consistent, quality coffee easily achievable.

“The Swiss-made Black&White4c by Thermoplan has a host of features that makes it simple for non-coffee led operators to give customers the high-street quality coffee they’ve come to expect.

“The industry’s most compact machine features a pre-set menu of 30 specialty drinks and a patented barista-level milk system, for operators to offer high-street quality in the cup. The recent launch of a syrup and powder module option also gives the ability to customise drinks and offer the ever-popular festive options.

“For pubs & bars in particular, Black&White offers more than a means to sell quality coffee. It presents an opportunity to capitalise on traditionally quieter day parts, without the need for extensive investment in staff and equipment. Coffee quality and consistency is a real issue in pubs and bars with consumers rating pub coffee as average, but willing to buy more coffee, more often if the quality were there. And with 44% being put off returning to a pub or bar serving poor quality coffee, investing in the right machine will ensure operators can capitalise on the coffee opportunity.”
