THINKING DIFFERENTLY ABOUT FOOD AND COFFEE

Sarah Hartnett is one the UK’s leading pastry chefs, a fellow of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts and an honorary fellow of Westminster Kingsway College. And, having joined us as our chef ambassador, Sarah has been working closely with UCC Coffee UK & Ireland’s Head of Coffee Excellence, Gareth Davies.

The two recently teamed up for our Think Differently series of videos, in collaboration with the Staff Canteen. The series explores the relationship between food and the roast profile of coffee.

Bringing their respective experience together, Sarah and Gareth have explored the similarities between desserts and coffee. By understanding the flavours of both better, it’s possible to identify which coffee suits different a customer best. With coffee often enjoyed as the final part of a meal, this ensures customers aren’t left with a bad taste in their mouth.
